Mohan's has held many prestigious positions throughout his career and has been instrumental in establishing several Heart institutes in North-West Delhi. He was the Professor of Cardiology at G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi and also served as the President of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography and Vice- President of Cardiological Society of India. He is the Current president of the Apex Society for CME in Cardiology. Dr. J C Mohan has been elected as "Honorary Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, FASE (Honoraris Causa)". He is the first Indian to be nominated as honorary fellow for this prestigious society.
