In the field of renal transplantation, Dr Gogoi is expert in minimally invasive transplant techniques of Laparoscopic and Robot Assisted Transplantation. He is a trained in Robotic surgery at da Vinci Training Center, Intuitive Surgical, California and has over six years of experience in doing Robotic Cancer surgeries of the Kidney, Bladder, Prostate, Adrenal etc. He also is an expert in Robotic reconstructive procedures of kidneys, ureters and bladder, in both adult and pediatric patients. Dr Gogoi's forte in Reconstructive urology has few parallels in the world and his department is considered a referral center for complicated urethral strictures, congenital defects, neobladders, phalloplasties, neo-vaginas, anti-incontinence procedures and genito-urinary fistulas. Having rehabilitated several hundred war victims with genito-urinary trauma from Sri Lanka and Middle East, Dr Gogoi's humanitarian work is greatly appreciated.

Dr Gogoi is currently the Director and Head of Department of Urology and Renal Transplantation at FMRI, Gurgaon. This is one of the few in India providing comprehensive Urological care using cutting-edge technology. His team comprises of board certified experts, specialising in female urology and endoscopic surgeries for stones, prostate, bladder etc. Also, FMRI is one of seven centers globally with an established Robotic Renal Transplant Programme, attracting patients from across the world. With one of the largest series of Pediatric transplants, FMRI stands tall amongst contemporary centers, regularly transplanting in toddlers with excellent results.
