AboutDr. Satnam Singh Chhabra is a renowned neurosurgeon in New Delhi with almost three decades of experience. He has a special interest in the surgical treatment of disorders of the brain, spine and disc. Dr Satnam Singh is currently empanelled as the senior consultant and Vice Chairman of the department of neurosurgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. He is an expert in endoscopic spinal surgery and endoscopic brain surgery. Special Interest- Endoscopic surgery of Brain and Spine. started endoscopic neurosurgery in 2000 and performed more than 150 Endoscopic Pituitary surgery and around 500 Endoscopic spine surgeries.
- Endoscopic Disc Surgery: performed the largest number (500) of Endoscopic Disc Surgery in India. designed & developed a special instrument for Endoscopic Disc Surgery. The design of this instrument has been submitted for patent rights.
- Endoscopic Disc Surgery is a minimally invasive technique to treat a common problem of Disc Prolapse or Sciatica. Patients are operated through a very small cut in the back and no skin stitches are given. They are allowed to walk around few hours after surgery and are discharged from the hospital within 24 hours after surgery. Patients are very comfortable after surgery and they go back to work few days after surgery. The cut is so small that it can be covered with a Band-aid that's why this is also called as Band-aid surgery. Patients from various parts of India and abroad have benefited from this surgical technique.
Academic Activities.- presented several papers on Endoscopic techniques in Spine and Brain Surgery in various scientific forums in the country. I have been a faculty in several Workshops on Endoscopic techniques in the country.
- attended several workshops on Endoscopic techniques in Germany (Hannover, Mainz, and Munich), France. also visited Pittsburgh to learn Endoscopic neurosurgery
